The farmhouse look has been incredibly popular throughout 2017. We've seen it featured on plenty of television shows, featured on the cover of many well-known magazines, and you can guarantee that any home decor website, store or professional will have something that ties us all back to that decor. Now, this isn't the look for some, but the reason that many across the country are falling in love with it is that it takes us back to a simpler time, where your home was a sanctuary that you could find comfort in. If you're interested in styling your home similarly, then something that you will need to consider are the types of window treatments that you decide to use. Not to say that the window treatment will make or break the overall look of your space, because that is absolutely not the case. There are various window treatments and combinations that can definitely leave you with the rustic farmhouse look that you're seeking. However, there are a few things that definitely help contribute to the look as a whole.

Wood

One of the most important things that you're going to want to incorporate into your design is wood. This is a must for all farmhouse aesthetics, and it's one that you'll be glad you added. Window treatments come in a variety of woods, and there are a variety of treatments that you can choose from. Whether you're interested in plantation shutters or blinds, Zinga's Home Solutions can provide you with the highest quality window treatments, while still adding to the overall look of your home.

Textured

Something that we'll always talk about when we touch on window treatments is texture. It's a crucial part to interior design, but it's also a sign that the window treatments that you're looking at are high-quality. In regards to wooden window treatments, the texture that we're talking about is the grain. Different window treatments will have different types of grain, making each treatment unique. These little details contribute so much to your space! You'll be glad you paid attention to these types of details.

Neutral

One of the reasons that this look is such a hit is because of how simplistic it is at the core. The bright, clean colors and the contrasting dark features make each room something incredible. We love being able to see this color contrast when we finish a project, especially since it's honestly one of the most timeless choices that can be made when doing interior. If you're going for the rustic look, all of the colors that you consider should be neutrals. That means that you should consider the color of paint in the room, the flooring, cabinets, etc. Ensure they're all neutral colors when you paint over them or remove it, so that the windows will always add to the feel of your home.

Plantation Shutters

There are all sorts of window treatments that we carry at Zinga's Home Solutions, but the ones that will really achieve that one of a kind farmhouse look will be plantation shutters. These window stylings are absolutely beautiful and the look that they create in your home takes you right out to the country. They offer texture, efficiency and they play a part in the theme. If you're someone who loves to layer up window treatments, this is one of the more common techniques that you can work with. Paired with some neutral curtains, this style looks great and will bring the room together.

Small Details

Believe it or not, while this look is quite large and encompasses a lot of areas, it really comes down to the smaller details when creating your space. Once you've figured out your color scheme, added the right window treatments and found a few pieces of furniture that you love, it will all come down to the little details that remain. Add pieces of furniture with faded paint, beautiful pieces of iron that make statements, and vintage art that gives it an old time feel. There are so many different stores that are now selling these types of accessories and interior design pieces that it won't be difficult to find and invest in these types of decor items. Another great place to check for these types of pieces will be your local farmer’s market, or antique stores. These types of places usually repurpose a lot of items or bring life to something that you never would have put in your home. These types of items usually wind up being center pieces or favorites after you've found them. When you've compiled these things, and implemented them into your home, you'll quickly see the look come together. Not every detail may seem like it will make a huge difference, but as a whole, the smaller details that you invest in as well as the larger pieces, like your window treatments and your color scheme, will leave you with that beautiful farm look that you love. Achieve the farmhouse look in your home in a short amount of time. Zinga's Home Solutions saves you time by bringing the showroom to your home. We will work through the different options that are available and would work for your window, as well as what types of stainings and textures you have. Call our office today and we'll get you taken care of immediately!
